“We doctors cannot afford to be ill. If we’re unwell our
patients will have to wait. I often worry about the patients. I just want to
complete the surgeries quickly and help them recover sooner.

Liang Fuqun
This surgeon felt sharp pain caused by appendicitis while
performing surgery. He opted for a pain-killing injection instead of stopping…and
choose to soldier on. When the pain worsened and he struggled to carry on he
got another dose of painkillers to cope. He was in so much pain his medical
scrubs were soaked in sweat.
He completed eight surgeries before getting treatment
himself.
The hospital had experienced a power outage the day before
causing a huge backlog of surgeries. Fortunately, Liang Fuqun able to recover.
